We love our ‘buy ethical’ brand identity. This stunning Aamito mud cloth tote bag is a showstopper; perfect for any fashionistas.
Mud cloth is also known as Bògòlanfini or bogolan and is a handmade Malian cotton fabric. It is an amazing African tradition from West Africa. Cotton is dyed with fermented mud or a variety of natural dyes including river mud that has been aged up to one year. The technique of production is simple by stitching together narrow strips of hand-woven cotton to make a whole cloth, then painted with patterns and symbols. It has an important place in traditional Malian culture and has; more recently, become a symbol of Malian cultural identity.
Roomy, sophisticated and designed to be multi-functional. It’s the perfect option for women who love that exotic allure.
Handmade in Kenya.
